I am thrilled to be your theatre director and teacher! I love learning and growing with all of you! I can't wait to see what kind of stage magic we create together!
About Theatre
In this class we will work together to grow our imaginations. We will explore the tools of the actor (mind, body, voice, and collaboration) through pantomime, puppetry, reader's theatre, and scene work.
We will use the techniques of Viola Spolin to encourage stage exploration and character development. These techniques include drama games and side coaching which allow actors of all ages to refine their craft.

Shadow Puppets
1st grade creates shadow puppets as a storytelling tool.
Lighting Design
Kindergarten learns how light effects our perception of color.
Musicals Theatre
3rd- 5th grade students have the opportunity to perform in a musical for the community.

Each year the East Aiken School of the Arts 3rd-5th Grade students have an opportunity to audition and perform in a musical for an audience of their family, friends, and community members.
The students in these productions learn the value of cooperation, responsibility, and leadership as they work together to create a fully realized production. These students regularly rehearse choreography, memorize scenes and blocking, and create characters on stage. The process of creating a musical is a huge challenge that these students undertake!
This year East Aiken is excited to produce Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer Jr. and Matilda Jr. I encourage you to join us for the magic and wonder these students will create on stage!
